Beginning

I began this blog with the intention of sticking to a weekly writing practice. Then I missed last week because I was at a week-long retreat where I had no phone or computer access (and I hadn't planned ahead well enough). This week I've been catching up, so this will be short. I am choosing to be gracious to myself and allow for error. The world won't stop spinning if I miss a week! But I am committed to this - it's a promise to myself and to you.

For Valentine's Day my sweet husband, Alex, signed me up for a year-long writer workshop with a writer I admire (Penelope Trunk) and I am sooo excited to dive into that experience with her, beginning this March! Thank you Alex!!! So yes - more writing in 2020.

We all have so many beginnings throughout our lives. They can come after endings, or simply appear out of nowhere and you have to make room for something unexpected and new. It's a gift when this happens. It keeps things exciting. Don't you think?

Many of you have told me you enjoy reading my stories, but I've learned than you are unaware of where these live and how to see more. So this week I encourage you to find out and if possible, please share with a few of your friends and family so I can expand my readership. This link will send you to my blog page that houses all my blogs (some you haven't even seen yet). And the blog lives on my personal creative website (separate from my professional consulting website) where I showcase my music and other creative projects. Someday, my dream is for my personal creative life and my professional creative life to merge.

This blog is an intentional beginning in that direction. Thank you for your support!

I'm loving your 'beginning.' Like you wrote, life is about lots of beginnings and these personal essays feel like a beautiful first step of panning your thoughts for gold, then spilling the nuggets out of the sieve into our hands. Every week, every other week, every month, doesn't matter. Hey, I didn't know about Penelope Trunk - thanks for the reference. I'll be eager to hear how the course goes. It looks really cool.
